We Help bomb disposal experts & dependents to bring welfare & financial support

Story

49 Field Squadron (EOD) are currently deployed on Operations in Afghanistan completing both Bomb Disposal and Search tasks in a very demanding and dangerous environment.  The Rear Operations Group wish to show their support by entering a 4 man team into the North Downs way 100.  Which is a 100 mile route from Farnham in the Surrey Hills to Wye in Kent?  With a total climb of 9930 feet and an overall elevation change of 20,000 feet, all of which must be completed within a 30 hour time limit. That in itself is a challenge. We however intend to complete this event carrying a rifle and bergen, (rucksack), weighing no less than 30lb. At times this will weigh well in excess of this amount as water and food will need to be carried between checkpoints that are few and far between.
