Welcome to the Just Giving Page for Nottingham KOP 2011!
Kenyan Orphan Project was founded in 2001 by 3 medical students at Nottingham University, with the aim of fighting poverty, disease, social exclusion and injustice for orphans and vulnerable children in Kenya. Nearly ten years on, KOP still stands true to its original values; working with communities for communities and encouraging change through active participation.
We are a team of 36 medical students from Nottingham University volunteering for KOP this summer. With your help we plan to fundraise £28,800 to directly support the KOP projects actively running in the Nyanza province in western Kenya. The projects aim to improve the health and lives of children not just in medicine but in basic freedoms - from disease and poor sanitation, from improved education and illiteracy, from economic and financial hardship, from gender and social inequality and from oppression and war.
Please give generously to help this amazing cause. Your contribution to KOP is invaluable in changing lives, breaking down barriers, challenging stigma, initiating cultural and educational exchange and ultimately making a difference to Kenyan local communities. We thank you all for your support.
NB. Each member of Nottingham KOP 2011 is aiming to raise £800 before our trip to Kenya this summer. If you wish for your donation to go to the total of a specific member please state their name in your message.
