On the 23rd of May, 12 intrepid adventurers will tentatively clamber into their canoes and paddle 60 miles in 5 days to raise money with Fix Parkinsons.  One of these noble ships will be the chariot that will bear two of the NuBlue team - Ewan and Matt - from one end of Scotland to another.  This proud vessel will be the NuCanoe.  You can follow our fund raising efforts here on our Just Giving page, or you can see how we're getting on by visiting our event page, www.nu-canoe.co.uk.

Behind the fun, midges, the inevitable rain and the breathtaking beauty of the Scottish Highlands, there is a serious purpose behind the trip.  Fix Parkinsons - the group that we are raising money with - were formed by a group of Engineers, when one of them - Simon - was diagnosed with early onset Parkinsons at the age of 41.  Last year they rowed the Channel, and this year, we're joining them to row Scotland (sort of).

Through this venture we aim to raise as much as we possibly can for our cause.  We'd hope that we can use this opportunity to raise awareness of the condition - and, importantly, we're going to be paddling alongside Simon, to prove that life doesn't stop when you're diagnosed.

All the money that we raise will go towards The Cure Parkinsons Trust, a registered Charity founded by four people with Parkinsons to raise money to fund and faciliate finding a cure, and every penny we raise will continue to make a difference to the lives of those who have Parkinsons, and the futures of those who will.
