Run the Sahara 2016 · 21 February 2016

We are a London-based charity working with the Saharawi refugees to tell their story, promote their own culture & earn a living through the arts. Our current music project Studio-Live provides training & resources for Saharawi youth to build a local music industry & develop their creative skills.

Story

Not making headlines like the current situation with the refugees across Europe or the situation in Palestine, there’s about 165,000 people that have been living in refugee camps in the Algerian desert, region of Tindouf, for about 40 years!!

This year a catastrophe displaced 25,000 people and devastated the place by severe flooding.

I’m going to participate in a marathon that takes place in the Sahara desert where the refugee camps are situated. This marathon represented in the UK by Sandblast has the goal to help these people and rebuild the camps after the devastating floods, particularly youth places that are promoting creative development, using their beautiful culture as their only weapon and reaching other people’s attention to this situation that has been ignored for decades.

The project is supported by the University of West London, and has a tremendous potential. It can change the world! It can change these people’s world!!!

I need your help with raising this money for this cause, and would really appreciate any effort from you guys. Anything helps.

Spreading the love in this world. Peace

Nuno
