Hey everyone!!
I'll be taking part in this charity event - Santa Dash in the lovely city of Carlisle. The event is taking place on the 6th of December on a Sunday. The aim of this event is to raise funds for two of Cumbria's charities - Eden House Children Hospice and CFM Cash for Kids. The unique catch in this run is not only I will be running for JUST 3km but; I will also be doing it in a Santa outfit!! I've always wanted one, so now what better way to flaunt what you have eh?
Eden Valley hospice is an amazing place (I've personally visited it) that provides palliative care to those with long-term, life-limiting illnesses. The Eden House Children Hospice is part of Eden Valley Hospice and is the ONLY children hospice in Cumbria! They are currently supporting over 40 families with a child with limiting illnesses like cancer and degenerative diseases. The hospice provides clinical and emotional support to these children and young adults and help them to make the most of their lives!For those who know me, you're probably wondering what on earth has gotten into my head. Yes it is true that I have never been a keen runner. In fact I'll be among the first to gasp and splutter for air! But hey, I figured what better way to be in that state than for the children! Plus I thought I would also do something to thank the people of Carlisle, who has been nothing but nice for as long as I've been here (it has been 12 weeks!) for my medical training. So now is the best time to do it since I will be leaving Carlisle soon.
So dear friends wherever you are.. Please please please find it in your heart to help keep the charities going (they need at least £800,000 a year) so that they can continue providing the care and love to these children and their families.
