No booze for 31 days… Yes ladies and gentlemen, Courtney and Audrey are going to attempt something they have not been able to do since they said yes to their first alcoholic drink all those many years ago.

Ok, so we won’t be climbing some sort of peak or running a marathon, but we will be doing it for a VERY worthwhile charity. The Baytree Centre based in Brixton has been doing amazing things empowering girls and women to build a better life for themselves for over 20 years. Check out their website and find out more.

So back to us… Octsober is a crazy Australian idea that the lovely Courtney has brought with her to London. Our pledge to you is that for 31 days we will resist the urge to allow an alcoholic beverage pass our lovely lips.

Now it shouldn’t be taken for granted how difficult this is going to be for us. We are both very social animals, who can often be found enjoying everything from Jaeger Bombs to Prosecco and back to Jaeger Bombs again. So this is a very big sacrifice for us. For example Audrey has tried for three years in a row to have a dry January and has failed after 2 weeks. Courtney’s favourite past time is sampling strange beers and wines from around the world ‘to develop her palate’ and doesn’t know what dry means.

We've also set up a blog where we'll be detailing our experience using all the free time we'll now have from not nursing hangovers - check it out here.

How much to give?

Remember that all proceeds are going to the Baytree Centre so the more the merrier, but £2 is even less than a drink at the best happy hour in town, so spare a thought for us who’ll not be able to enjoy such things.
