The Aspire Channel Swim 2009 · 6 December 2009 ·

Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

Story

Hello chums, Thank you for coming to see my Aspire Channel Swim Challenge JustGiving page. If you fancy sponsoring me, Its like paying me to swim, except they give the money to the Aspire Charity, who help people with Spinal Injuries.

I'm swimming roughly 120 lengths of a 25 metre pool for twelve weeks between Monday 14th September - Sunday 6th December. That roughly amounts to the 22 miles it would take to cross the channel. So I'm like swimming the channel without spreading myself in goose fat and without getting in amongst the nasty currents and other stinky debris that can be found in our fair English Channel.

I'm doing it to keep fit really, but if I can raise a few bob for a good cause while I'm about it, then why not :-)

I've started a blog to keep track on the progress too :) http://ogletsbigswim.blogspot.com/

The boring bit...

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thanks all,

Mucho Luvvo,

Jo, the bionic Oglet, Ogden x
