In a moment of sheer brilliance (or madness!), the Music Department at Wycombe High School decided to present the staff with a challenge; to learn a new instrument and pass Grade One exam in six months. Staff are being sponsored to raise money for the ‘Play Your Part’ campaign. We at WHS are looking to raise £1.5 million in order to build a new Music block, work that is desperately needed.
Ok, so choosing viola is a cheat because I used to play the violin BUT THAT WAS 25 YEARS AGO and anyway Viola is in Alto Clef. So far so good - it seems muscles have memory and it just goes to prove practise makes permanent. Big thanks to my lovely friend Harriet for loaning a beautiful viola and also to my teacher, Pippa Grundey, one of our Y13 students, for her expert tutelage.
