Story

This August myself and 4 friends will be cycling 1000 miles in under 2 weeks from London to Nice through Geneva. We'll be averaging 80 miles a day going on and off many of the Tour de France routes, which feature some terrifying hills. I've decided to do this for an incredibly underfunded charity The Transverse Myelitis society (http://www.myelitis.org.uk/) because 10 years ago my mum contracted a disease called Transverse Myelitis, an incredibly rare viral infection that attacks the nervous system. She survived and spent over a year partially paralysed and although she showed enormous strength to pull through she suffers daily with neurological and pathological problems.

I want to show some of the strength she has shown for a decade to overcome this challenge. The money raised will go towards support for TM sufferers to provide them with the day care and equipment they need and researching cures for this disease as it is so rare that sufferers are left at the mercy of the effects before it stops of its own accord.

I am no regular cyclist and this will be roughly the equivalent of cycling 3 marathons a day in August temperatures in France so...

Any donations that you would like to make are greatly appreciated!
