For many, Christmas begins at the point when you see the new and increasingly dull Coca-Cola advert for the first time on the television. For my family, it usual comes upon entering or HMV (present-finding hotspots) and hearing Uncle Chris’ hoarsey voice on the tinny speaker-system struggling through his tragic and increasingly embarrassing holiday classic… ‘Driving Home For Christmas’.

Although, this year, for me, it was receiving an e-mail from Amnesty International asking me to take part in a Santa Fun Run to raise money around the Christmas period. The run is 5km long, in , on the 5^th of December, and I have to wear full santa gear… beard and all. I have no problem looking like an idiot around the holiday period (I have added some pictures to prove that), nor do I struggle to run 5km (I don’t think anyone does… I may even wear the big santa head for a challenge), but, with so many fundraising groups around, it is difficult for me to ask you to give to one more…

…however, if you could help Amnesty out by digging deep just this once around Christmas time that would be fantastic, as it doesn’t take more than a minute. The work they do is not important, it is vital, and even if you don’t believe in it as much as I do, every action will help. You can call it your Good Deed and thus avoid getting visited by a 7-foot-tall ginger muppet, who I used to think was as scary as the Ghost Of Christmas Still to Come (or, less archaically, Future)… the Grim Reaper fella.
