My story
On the 16th June 2011 Corporal Lloyd Newell was fatally wounded whilst on operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
Lloyd was the brother of a friend from work. As a tribute him, and the other servicemen who continue to risk their lives, a group of us have entered the Para's 10 Challenge.
This entails a 10 mile cross country run in long trousers and boots whilst carrying a 16 kg rucksack. We'll aim to complete the course in under 1hr 50mins which is the qualifying for those entering the Paratrooper Company.
