I will be taking part in a tandem skydive on 10th October 2009. I will be climbing to a height of 12,000 ft with a group of fellow fund-raisers, then exiting the aircraft where I will 'enjoy' speeds of up to 120 miles per hour while in freefall for 45 seconds! At 5,000 ft the parachute will open (hopefully!) and we will gently float back to earth.

I have always had a fear of heights, so this is something that is certainly going to be a massive challenge to me, but I see it as an excellent opportunity to confront my fear and raise a great deal of money for a local charity, Kids Inspire. Kids Inspire is a charitable organisation that works with the most vulnerable young people in Chelmsford, Essex. The children are often the victims of abuse and neglect, therefore the aim of Kids Inspire is to offer support and care to ultimately improve the lives of those affected. By assisting Kids Inspire I will be supporting the children in making positive decisions and reaching goals which will lead to a better future form them and the community.
