Centrepoint is the UK’s leading youth homeless charity. Together with our partners, we support over 16,000 16-25 year olds into a home and a job every year. Our award-winning helpline provides support to vulnerable young people across the country. We campaign to end youth homelessness by 2037.

Story

Last year around this time after a late night in the office I've got a post 7pm sandwich and went for a walk to meet a friend. On my way there I've met a woman about my age sitting on the street and I realised I haven't eaten my sandwich yet because it was late and I was tired and just simply couldn't be bothered, so I gave it to her. Unfortunately she was vegetarian! and it was chicken sandwich :( I felt for her - I was vegetarian for 11 years and I know that even when you’re starving, meat is never an option! Luckily I also had a banana which she happily accepted, but it all felt so wrong.. The fact that I have so much yet she had so little and people who were walking past her were oblivious made me really sad. I hope that by doing this I will be able to change people's perception about homelessness and stop being so ignorant towards homeless. Please donate generously.

Thanks xx
