<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: "Comic Sans MS"; color: #0070c0; font-size: 13pt;">To mark my year as President of the Rotary Club of Ivybridge I have decided to take on the challenge of the Two Moors Way.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Between 7<sup>th</sup> and 11<sup>th</sup> June I will walk unsupported from Lynton in North Devon to Ivybridge, 102 miles,crossing Exmoor and Dartmoor. I will carry my own equipment, including a tent and sleeping bag, for the duration of the walk.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: "Comic Sans MS"; color: #0070c0; font-size: 13pt;">I’m no stranger to charity challenges having cycled the Coast to Coast route with previous President Chris Barker and his wife Caroline in one day, cycling the Westcountry Way from Padstow to Bristol and in 2005 trekking with a team of Husky’s across the Arctic Circle. This Arctic expedition raised an impressive £10,500 for St Lukes Hospice.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: "Comic Sans MS"; color: #0070c0; font-size: 13pt;">The route is split into nine half day walks, each one approximately 11 miles in length.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: "Comic Sans MS"; color: #0070c0; font-size: 13pt;">As President for 2010/11 my chosen charities are Families for Children, an adoption charity based in Buckfastleigh, and The Chestnut Appeal, raising funds for Prostate Cancer research and care based in Plymouth.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The walk is also going to raise funds for The Alzheimer’s Society.</span></p>
