Story

Hi

Thanks for visiting this page, I really need your help. I am Cycling from London to Paris for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. A hugh challenge for me but not compared to the challenge that my nephews face.

James and George both have Cystic Fibrosis (CF). CF is an incureable hereditary disease which has a massive impact on the lives of its sufferers. To give you an example:

George, my 2 year old nephew, has to take between 40 & 80 tablets every day, along with 2 sessions of physiotherapy just to ensure he can digest his food and breath properly.

James, my 4 year old nephew, recently had to spend 5 days in hospital on intravenous medication because he had a chesty cough. Something that most people take as an inconvenience is genuinely life threatening for these boys.

CF effects the digestive system and causes a build up of sticky fluid around the lungs effecting the breathing. Each week, two young lives are lost to Cystic Fibrosis and around half of sufferers die before they reach 38 years old. This means there is a chance that the majority of the people that read this will out live my young nephews.

There is currently research ongoing to try to isolate and eliminate the gene which causes CF, this is partially funded by the charity and could be life changing for my nephews and many others like them. Please help me to raise money to support this amazing charity.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe & they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. So please dig deep and donate now.
