Thanks for taking the time to visit Top Floor Studio's "Beds for Sierra Leone" JustGiving page.
The Studio's own Annette Roberts and youngest son Luke Roberts – a BBC Holby City actor – have joined forces with Woodbridge Rotary Club to provide new hospital beds for a small town Hospital in Sierra Leone.
Annette's brother is a mining engineer in that country and during a short stay with him she became fired up with the beds idea for the hospital in Lunsar - a couple of hours drive from the capital Freetown.
"They have doctors and medicine but the facilities, particularly the beds, need transforming", she says. "I'm planning an exhibition and sale of photographs I took in Africa. Throughout the week of 12th July - 17th the Studio here in Woodbridge will be open. Everyone is welcome".
However, if you can't manage to call in and you would like to help this project, you can make a donation via The Woodbridge Rotary Club who are kindly handling donations directly through their charity web site.
Luke Roberts has kick-started the fund with £1000 donation from his charity work, presented at the Event Opening on evening of 10th July. The evening also raised an amazing £1,100 from the generous donations of our guest together with sales of prints and photographs.
So please dig deep and donate now to a really practical project that's focussed on reducing infection and directly saving lives.
