Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
At the end of October I am going to Egypt to run the Sahara Race 2009 (http://www.4deserts.com/sahararace/), a 7 day, 155 mile race across the Sahara Desert…. even being married to a psychiatrist is no guarantee against madness!
I am taking part in this crazy race to raise funds for the Alder Hey Imagine Appeal, a charity which supports the outstanding care at Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool that I was lucky enough to receive when I was born.
When I was 5 weeks old I was diagnosed with hydrocephalus, commonly known as water on the brain. The early diagnosis and treatment that I received from Alder Hey undoubtedly saved my life.
Today Alder Hey is one of Europe's busiest children’s hospitals caring for over 250,000 children every year.
The Imagine Appeal is raising funds to help Alder Hey to continue their pioneering work, develop facilities and to offer the very highest standards of care to their young patients. Every donation received helps to achieve even more to improve the quality of life for children in hospital - from researching medical conditions to buying vital equipment, to building a better environment and providing support for patients and their families.
I am self-funding this race so everything you donate will go straight to the Imagine Appeal.
Please dig deep for this cause – making a donation will be a lot less painful than 7 days running across the Sahara!
Thank You!
