1,000 miles in less than 24 hours on a 125cc scooter - can it be done ?  Those of you that ride bikes will know that covering 500 miles or more can be hard work on a fully equipped touring bike with all the bits and pieces necessary to keepyou comfortable. But I reckon that, if i am going to ask people to sponsor me, I ought to go out of my way to make things as tough as possible - no point in taking the 'easy' option !  So the aim is to cover a 1,000 mile route around the UK in less than 24 hours on a 125cc scooter - it cost me about £250 to buy, has 4 gears and a maximum speed of about 50 mph.   

I reckon I can do it - in June 2013 I will be setting out to ride 1,000 miles around the UK in less than 24 hours to raise money for the Royal British Legion.  The Royal British Legion safeguards the welfare, interests, and memory of those who are serving or who have served in the Armed Forces.

Of course the travel to and from Jersey makes this a bit tougher for me as I will have a further 600 mile round trip just to get to the start point and back to the ferry afterwards - 1,600 miles on  a scooter over a weekend .............. and all for a worthy cause.
