Bomb Disposal Expert Captain Lisa Head RLC was fatally injured whilst defusing a series of IED's in Helmand last April. I am joining some of her friends, family and members of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team, for who my brother-in-law works, for a sponsored skydive. We will be jumping with the "Silver Stars", the Royal Logistics Core Parachute Display team, in her memory and all proceeds will go to the Felix Fund.

The Felix Fund charity (http://www.felixfund.org.uk/) exists to support any military personnel and their families, who have conducted or assisted with Explosive Ordnance Disposal duties.

Their current focus is funding therapeutic normalisation breaks to help bomb disposal teams readjust to life in the UK after serving in Afghanistan but they are also raising money for welfare and rehabilitation facilities, and building a hardship fund. This fund will of course support the trade’s many injured and bereaved, but also members of the wider ‘bomb disposal family’ who have otherwise fallen on hard times.
