Story

JOB DONE!

Well that went better than I envisaged and I finished in a fairly respectable 10 hours and 46 minutes. It was an amazing experience and awesome event. Luckily the predicted mid 30's temperatures did not kick in until during the run which made life a lot easier on the bike.

Thank you so much to everyone who donated and helped me to raise a huge amount of money for Adam. The page is still open for a few weeks though so if anyone else wants to make a donation then please do and help us get to £4,000!

I did this to raise money for Adam Bird who lives just up the road from me in Epsom, he has a very rare and aggressive form of cancer called Neuroblastoma which affects about 100 children in the UK every year. Despite having all the best care the NHS has to offer Adam is not responding well to the treatment and it is looking very likely that he will have to travel to America for the treatment that could save his life. This will obviously be very expensive and is the reason his family are desperately raising funds. Here are some words from his family:

Our son Adam is suffering from a rare and aggressive children's cancer called Neuroblastoma. We desperately need your help to raise money to allow us to take Adam to America for treatment that could save his life. Having a child in this situation is every parent's worst nightmare. Since he was diagnosed last year our world has been turned completely upside down. Adam is frequently hospitalised and our life is consumed by medication and treatment and stress. We cling to the hope that Adam will stay strong long enough to get the treatments he needs and that they will make our family whole again.

Even though I have reached my initial target it would be fantastic to raise even more money so if you have not already given please give whatever you can and help to get us to £4,000
