<p>A good friend of mine's daughter Lauren,was born with a condition known as <strong style="font-size: 19px; background-color: #ffffff;">Leukocyte Adhesion Deficiency (LAD), </strong> There are only around 300 known cases of LAD world wide. Without getting too technical, this restricticts her white blood cells (leukocytes) from actictivly fighting infections. The smallest cold or tummy bug we would spend a couple of days feeling sorry for ourselves tucked up in bed, could mean a 2 week stay in hostpital and a cocktail of antibiotics for Lauren. </p>
<p>The only real way for Lauren to beat LAD is to have a stem cell transplant. The Antony Nolan charity I have chosen do their very best to match people like Lauren with donors who have registered a sample which could ultimately save a life. </p>
