Loneliness is as harmful as smoking 15 cigarettes a day. The
problem is, not many people know this.

PDM are working with Cyril Flint to raise awareness about
the ever increasing problem of both loneliness and isolation that older
residents in the Trafford and South Manchester areas face.

The charity provides a free befriending service that literally
changes lives by matching up volunteers with older people,
who then spend time together and develop a lifelong friendship. 

It's already improved loneliness and isolation across many older people in the Manchester area and there's so much more we can do.
