<p><strong>YES! Completed!!</strong></p> <p><strong><br /></strong></p> <p>On the 6th August 2011, I cycled 150 miles from Marine Drive, Scarborough to Marine Drive, Southport,&nbsp;starting at 4.30am and ending 15 hours later.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>As promised, I rode a single-speed bike and wore flip-flops. Not the wisest choices I'll grant you, considering Yorkshire's seemingly never-ending hills and the continuous rain for most of the ride.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The furthest I had cycled in a day before this event was 70 miles, on a personal level, I'm delighted to have doubled that. I think we'll brush over my slight riding error whilst descending a very wet hill in Yorkshire that appears to have left my knee even more knobbly than it was before!</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>I have been truly touched by the support I have received. I will contact you all personally in the next few days to thank you and give you more details about the ride.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>One person who I can't contact personally is Tim Bramley (I hope that is correct? He did say it was apple related, so it could be Tim Granny Smith!) Anyway, Tim was walking his dog and passed me as I stood roadside eating yet another banana. We got talking about my activity for the day at which point Tim ran off and as I passed his house minutes later, very kindly donated &pound;10 to the cause. I was moved by this spontaneous and generous gesture.
