Story

The Warriors-at-the-Water event is a 23 mile sponsored cycle ride or alternatively a 10-mile run around Rutland Water for individuals, families and organisations. It is in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) with all funds raised going to researching a cure for the disease and to support people living with Motor Neurone Disease (also known as ALS).

Motor neurone disease (MND) is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting.

MND can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe. However, not all symptoms necessarily happen to everyone and it is unlikely they will all develop at the same time, or in any specific order.

We appreciate your generosity in helping our Warriors fight back against this disease.

50% of funds raised will go to Research, 50% to support people living with MND (30% Lincolnshire Group, 10% Cambridgeshire, 10% Rutland and Leicestershire)
