A team of 5 motorcycle riders, intend to follow the route of Sq Leader Roger Bushell , who became Big X at the former Stalag Luft III prisoner of war camp in Geramy during World War II. The camp became well know throught the film THE GREAT ESCAPE, and the most iconic film stunt of Steve McQueen jumping his motorcycle over barb wire fences to reach freedom in Switzerland However the trus story is that 50 officers were murdered by the Gestapo after capture in 1944, Sq Leader BUSHELL being one of those.

Our team intend to ride from RAF BIGGIN HILL ( KENT ) through Belgium, Holland, Germany and finally arrive at the former camp now in Poland. Stay at the camp and then continue via Southern Germany, where the stunt with Steve McQueen was filmed back to the UK.

We intend to raise £10,000 to be split between Help for Heroes and the Royal British Legion ,to help our injured soldiers returning from war.
