Bupa Great North Run 2011 · 18 September 2011 ·

Over 150,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

Stop press! I managed the run in one hour 48 minutes and a few seconds which was alright. No serious issues and a pretty focused run given my lack of fitness. Now I am determined to get under 1'45" for the next one... You can still sponsor me as I am getting close to my target! And the CD offer is still on.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Every year I attempt to turn the clock back and in some wild dream believe that I can still run a half marathon in one hour 30 minutes. Well this might be my last half marathon and despite being pretty unfit I still think I can do it in one hour 45 minutes. For every pound you donate I will sweat even more to make it. Losing a few pounds myself would probably help.

So on September 18th I set off from Newcastle with about 60,000 other fools to run to the coast which is just over 13 miles (for the foreign element among you that is 104 Furlongs) and all to raise money for the MS Society and a lot of enjoyment. This year, raising money for this great cause has become even more important as a dear friend has sadly been diagnosed with MS.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now and think of me on the 18th September.
