We are raising much needed funds to help fight Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

Story

First off, nice one for looking at my just giving page.

In May I will be running the Manchester 10km run in aid of the charity Joining Jack which is a charity that was set up for a 8 year old lad, Jack Johnson who was diagnosed with Duchenne Mucular Dystrophy which is an incurable muscle wasting disease. A cure needs to be found for DMD or else unfortunately Jack and many others that have it may not make it to adult life so the money raised will go towards finding a cure for this disease.

I'm also doing this for myself as I need/want a goal to work towards and although entering a full marathon would be completely ridiculous (if not funny) I feel 10km is doable. How hard can it be? :)

Considering the last time I did any running was from a cab a few years ago, I will have to put some serious training in but with this to work towards and the help of my friends a family, I feel that I can do it.

Now I've worked out that I have around 400 friends on Twitter and Facebook so I'm going off the basis that everyone will donate a quid and because of that, I am looking to raise around £400 which I feel is achievable. I will also be stalking celebrities on Twitter and asking them to donate.... and if they don't then I will continue to harass them until they do!!!!

I'd donate a fiver just for the pure cheek of me even attempting it but in all seriousness, as Tesco say, every little helps.

Thanks for looking again and I'll no doubt keep you updated with various video diaries.

Pad :)
