Muslim Charity is a leading international relief and development NGO that aims to alleviate the suffering of the world's poorest people. As well as responding to disasters and emergencies, it successfully carries out short and long-term development projects - regardless of race, religion or gender.

Story

The death toll from Pakistan's worst floods in living memory stood at over 2,000, with water-borne disease emerging as a threat to survivors.

More than 20 million people have been affected and 650,000 homes have been destroyed by floods and landslides brought on by monsoon rain in Pakistan.

Floods are having a crippling effect on the local economy as food prices are raising due to damaged crops – 1.3 Million acres of crops is estimated to be completely destroyed.

Flood waters have now roared down from the North to Punjab and on to Sindh along a trail more than 1,000 km (600 miles) long, spreading the disaster further.

Muslim Charity has initiated the Pakistan Flood Relief. This appeal aims to raise funds to provide much needed emergency aid to the victims of the devastating flood in Pakistan which started in the last week of July, 2010.
