My story

WE HAVE REACHED THE TARGET IN LESS THAN 10 DAYS!

Well done everyone – this is an absolutely amazing effort.

We have made good the debt of £15,817 that CPFC (2000) Ltd had to St John Ambulance when going into administration in less than 10 days on 9 May 2010.

I am very proud and quite humbled by the generosity of Palace fans in making sure that St John Ambulance didn’t lose out.  A massive, massive thank you to all of you who contributed.

Thank you too to the fans of Fulham, Wolves, Sheffield Wednesday, Birmingham City, Chester City, Brighton, Spurs, Manchester City, Bristol City and Portsmouth (sorry if I’ve unintentionally missed anyone) who have helped us on our way.

Thank you to the Pompey fan, Tom Purnell, whose idea we borrowed and to Dave Mowlam who pointed out the site – we wouldn’t have got started without them.

The website will stay open for anyone who still wants to contribute.

Palace fans have always been proud to support our club.  That doesn't mean, however, that we are proud of the way the club has failed to honour relatively small debts to local businesses and charities like St John Ambulance.

As a Palace fan I've fortunately have never had need to use the services provided by the St John Ambulance at Palace matches, although have away from Selhurst Park – and very good they were too.

This site has been set up to help pay off this debt that reflects badly on our club and to thank all those who work and volunteer for    for the great work they do. All the money raised will go to the London branch that will have lost out.  Please contribute.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
