I am 72 years old with 3 sons and 10 grandchildren and want to raise funds for TROOP AID, a charity that helps injured soldiers on their return to the UK.
I cannot walk from John O’Groats to Lands End or run a marathon, so I have decided to do a tandem parachute jump in order to do my bit to help these brave servicemen and women.
After the initial shock, my whole family is 100% behind me and giving me all the support they can. My husband ran 2 London marathons for charity when in his 60s and so it is now his turn to help fund-raise for me!!
I do appreciate what our troops do for us and when I see the horrific injuries incurred by roadside bombs (IEDs), jumping from a plane seems a minor activity if the money raised contributes to help with their recovery and makes their lives more bearable.
So, please, please give generously!!
