Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am pleased to announce that we will be entering a team into the Fisherman’s Mission Midnight Challenge Walk on the 21st July 2012 (Saturday).
This circular walk starts at 9pm on Saturday 21st July from Princetown Primary School on Dartmoor, taking us across open moorland with only the moonlight and a torch to light the way. The walk will take approx 4-5 hours (13 miles) and will be supervised by Plymouth Dartmoor Search & Rescue.
The event has been organised by the Fisherman's Mission to raise awareness and funds for fisherman and their families. Deep sea fishing is the UK's most dangerous peacetime occupation and on average each year 15 vessels are lost and 62 fishermen are killed or seriously injured. The Mission provides emergency and welfare support to fishermen and their families 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. They receive no government or Lottery funding and rely almost entirely upon voluntary contributions to fund their activities.
