We are taking part in the UK version of the Rhino Charge this September.  For those of you who don’t know what this is, there is an annual Rhino Charge in Kenya which raises funds towards Rhino conservation in Kenya, primarily to fund the building of a fence around the Aberdares National Park.  The UK event is a much more scaled down version in terms of participants and duration.

Rhino Ark raises money for the building of the one of the world's largest eco-fences, designed to fence in Kenya’s Aberdare National Park and surrounding indigenous State forest land, which together comprise a total of 2000 km2. This area is now described as the Abedare Conservation Area (ACA). This not only provides an "ark" for endangered species, such as rhino and bongo, but preserves one of Africa's greatest eco-systems.

There are a number of teams that take part in what is essentially a 4x4 challenge race where you score points by having to navigate through rough terrain, the event takes a whole day and has various sections, some hard some easy, it is a test of skill of the driver and capability of the car. the event is an overall fun event but at the same time benefiting a very worthy cause.
