This community organisation located in northern Ethiopia represents members from over 600 households. Established in 1992 it has developed into a highly effective organisation which has helped the poorest members of its community to lift themselves out of poverty. The organisation is keen to build on its success and reach out to more people.

In order to generate income the organisation plans to install a grain mill which will have several benefits:

• The local community will be able to purchase grains at below the market cost.
• They will have access to different spices from suppliers in other areas using the mill.
• The profits generated from the mill will fund care for orphan children and vulnerable elderly people in the community.

The organisation has asked for help with the following:

• construction of a building to house the mill - £2250
• cost of the mill itself - £3703.
