Story

I competed in the Dakar Rally 6 times, most recently in 2006 and 2007. I was Ladies champion three times.

I have now decided to take on the new challenge of the Beijing Rally in 2008. I am excited about the Rally for the competition, adventure and spirit that it brings.

The most important goal is to finish, but I will do everything to be up there with the leading ladies as well.

The Beijing Rally is the original, longest and toughest endurance Rally. It will take 16 days and covers 15,000km of off-road tracks, desert and poor roads.  In 2008, the rally will happen again (for the first time since 1992). It begins in Moscow, then runs through Russia, Kasakhstan and China. I enjoy the remote navigation and seeing places that few other people have seen before.

As this Rally happens very infrequently, but has a great history, I expect the spirit of co-operation and support to be high amongst everyone who is taking part in the adventure.

I am raising money for Kidscape, which is a small national charity helping thousands of children and families a year. They do a lot with a small amount of money and can really change children's lives, so please be generous in supporting their work.

Many thanks for your support!
