Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 17th May 2013 I will be hiking from Cape Wrath to Fort William then once in Fort William will be climbing Ben Nevis with my cousin John and friend Lee. We are going to be averaging 18 miles a day for 14 days where we will be setting up camp for 11 of them days.
I'm 26 years old and was diagnosed with Stargardt's Disease when I was 21. I was born with this condition and no matter how many eye tests I had throughout my childhood, this was never detected. I was only diagnosed when I tried to join the army and I had failed my eyesight test.
Once diagnosed I was introduced to Henshaw's Society for the Blind and they helped me to live with the difficulties of being partially sighted. As they have helped me so much with living with my condition and the work they do for the visually impaired is valuable, it's my time to give something back!
