On Sunday 27 March 2011, I am running Eastleigh 10k Road Race 2011. I will be taking the opportunity to raise funds for Mosame Trust ( www.mosame.org ).
Mosame is a greeting in the Cameroonian Baya language meaning – Good morning, have you seen the light? This emphasizes the charity’s main aim of transforming the quality of life in rural communities in Cameroon.
Last year over £50,000.00 has been raised. It enabled us to built January Hope Community Centre in the village of Bambouti Eastern Cameroon, designed and sponsored by the students from the engineering department of Southampton University and built by the villagers under the project management of Mosame Trust staff in Cameroon. It incorporates a medical centre, classrooms, library, village hall, modern toilets, washroom, grain store, kitchen, and office facilities.
I am running the Race because I want to make a difference… I want to see happy faces of the orphans and villagers… I want January Hope Community Centre to be the hub of the community to provide education, health care and welfare facilities primarily for the orphans and also to the wider community…
