Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Some have known for ages that I'm running the 2006 London Marathon, but for others this is news! I'm deeply into my training and it's definitely going to happen!
No doubt most of you will think I'm a nutter; running a 26-mile race won't be easy but I'm up for the challenge. Your challenge is to support me in any way you can. So please sponsor, and if you're around come to the Finish line and join the excitement! It will be a sight to see and a great day out in London.
Friends old and new, family and training buddies, support and donation from each one of you means a lot to me.
UK Youth has an excellent reputation and I'm proud to be running for them. Growing up, I always had opportunites to participate in sports, activities and persue my passions. With UK Youth, I'm giving something back so that disadvantaged children can have some of the same opportunities, stay out of trouble and broaden their horizons.
This website is the way forward in sponsorship: it's secure, very simple and you don't need to live in the UK to use it. GiftAid works automatically for UK taxpayers to add nearly 30% to your donation. Fantastic!
I'll be updating this page from time to time with news.
Thanks all - keep in touch!
Patrick.

Update 18/04 (six days to go !) : Thank you to everyone who's sponsored me both on and offline ! The Berkhamsted Half Marathon was a complete success. I crossed the finish line at 1:40:00. While I was 6 minutes slower than on my best Half Marathon, it was a brutal course with a lot of steep hills!
My physio and podiatrist have been brilliant treating my knee problem which reared its head in late March, and have cleared me for the race! Thank you everyone for your encouraging words.
I hope to see some of you along the course or at the Finish line! As my sponsors, you are cordially invited to UK Youth's reception after the race (e-mail me for details!)
