I work with torture survivors from all over the world who have fled persecution in their home country and are seeking asylum in the UK. They are shattered individuals who have a huge mountain to climb to overcome the traumas of their experiences and rebuild their lives again. The Medical Foundation offers many services which help our clients to achieve this. We walk with them and support them on their journey.
I am going to climb Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, which is some challenge considering the altitude and my total lack of fitness!! But the one thing that will keep me going is the constant though that my hardships and difficulties are nothing compared to the horrors our clients have endured.
