The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

Hi,

I wanted to share some exciting news with you: I have been selected to be part of Team Samsung 2015 who will be trekking across the Sahara for The Princes Trust!

We will be trekking 8 hour days for 7 continuous days in extreme heat and humidity.

You all know how much I hate exercise so just the training is going to be hard enough, then I have to actually keep putting one foot in front of the other.

All that plodding along will certainly be a lot easier with your support, the blisters and the aching legs will be pushed on knowing that it is all for a worthy cause.

Worried some people might think they are sponsoring your holiday?

- Your trip has been designed to be challenging: you know you will struggle at times. This is not a holiday!
- You won’t be doing much sight-seeing: it’s all about the physical activity! And you won’t get lie-ins either!
- You’ll be exercising for long days in all weathers. You can’t miss a day if it rains!
- If you don’t often camp / go without your personal comforts / get up early, point that out! Many people will sponsor you for that alone!
- Fundraising itself is hard work … so is the fitness training
- Not everyone can afford to pay their own costs: charities would miss out on £millions if that was the only option.
- Charities can’t just rely on donations – a trip like yours motivates people to raise far more than they would donate.

Please help me to reach my fundraising goal by donating whatever you can :)
