My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Phew!  The Great South Run has been run, in 1hr 54m 50s, and I've survived to tell the tale!

I won't pretend that by the finish it wasn't hurting, 'cos it was, big time, but as they say, no pain no gain, and it hasn't put me off wanting to do better next time.

A huge thank you to everyone for your fantastic financial support for KIDS and to those that were supporting us on the day.

If you have yet to contribute to my fund for KIDs, then it's not too late and you are in the right place to make a difference.

All the best

Paul

The background to my race:-

Back in June I decided it was about time I did something about my expanding waistline and fading fitness (!?) before it was too late, and so dug out those expensive (but properly fitted) running shoes from the bottom of the cupboard.

Foolishly I announced this at my BNI Chapter (Meon Valley Flyers) one week and was pinned into a corner by the charming but persuasive Sarah Mills who suggested I put that effort to good use and support KIDS charity in the Great South Run.

Sarah doesn't take no for an answer, so here I am, entered into a run for the very first time, following a BUPA training plan so as not to damage the ageing body, and appealing to your pity / admiration / generosity to sponsor me handsomely and help me raise much needed funds for the splendid people at KIDS.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
