Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My wife Claire has been diagnosed with cancer, and I'm planning to complete the National Three Peaks challenge and the Yorkshire three peaks challenge in 48 hours to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
A group of friends and I who all have links to someone who has or has had cancer are going to take part in the Macmillan Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on Saturday 14th June. I am also going to complete the National Three Peaks challenge immediately before this.
The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest Mountains in Scotland, England and Wales, Ben Nevis; Scarfell Pike and Snowden in less than 24 hours. The route I have planned will be 23.5 miles with 3,064 metres of ascent. I will start at 10 pm on Thursday night and (hopefully) finish before 10pm on Friday night.
I'll then travel to Yorkshire to join the rest of the team for the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge starting early on Saturday morning.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge is being organised by Macmillan Cancer Support and takes in the three peaks of Pen-Y-Gent; Whernside and Ingleborough. 24.5 miles & 1,586m of ascent. I will start this with the team at 7am on Saturday morning and plan to complete it by 7pm with three hours to spare !
The total distance for the two days is 48 miles with 4,650 metres (15,255 ft ) of ascent.
Thank you in advance for everyone who is helping with this challenge and for your generosity to this very worthy cause.
