I know you have all probably been inundated with lots of very nice people running this year’s London Marathon for charity, but unfortunately for your wallet & purses, I too am jumping on the band wagon!

At end of last year we managed to get one marathon spot to run for the Isabel Hospice which Neal was intending to take up. Unfortunately Neal has been hampered by an injury he sustained last year (I think it’s really because he wants to appear on ‘The Biggest Loser UK’ next year) and has had to withdraw and be replaced by me! I know Neal is hugely disappointed that he couldn’t do it, so will make sure I do the place justice like I know Neal would have done.

I have a little less time to train so have been playing catch up over the last few weeks and will make sure I am able to finish even if Fran has to give me a piggy back the whole way round!

As you know, Isabel Hospice is a charity which is very close to all of our hearts, as they cared for our very dear friend Paul Cully in his final days. They have provided such an invaluable service to his family and are truly an amazing organisation made up of volunteers. All charities are worthy organsisations but this one really is something special.

Last year we set up a Just Giving page in memory of Paul and so far have raised £1,895 for the Isabel Hospice and I want to try and increase this by the £1,500 target I have been set by the hospice. I know at this time of the year a lot of people ask for sponsorship but your help would be amazing and would be hugely appreciated by everyone that knew Paul and the hospice itself.

For this I promise to run my socks off in training, eat healthier (just a little though) and do Paul proud as his determination and passion really was, and still is, an inspiration to everyone he knew.

Thanks all and will hopefully see you on the day to show off my nipple plasters!

Chris

We have set up this page in memory of Paul Cully who recently lost his battle with Cancer. We have lost a dear friend and family member, and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Paul knew that he was a real inspiration, and will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

His family has asked that for anyone wishing to send flowers for the funeral, to instead make a donation to the Isabel Hospice, who cared for Paul in his final few days and ensured that he was comfortable and peaceful. Isabel Hospice is an amazing group of volunteers and specialist medical staff who provide a free service that is invaluable to families.

Donations are therefore very important to them, and any amounts will be hugely appreciated.
