Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
It’s time to suffer the wind and rain of an English summer and set out again on this year’s 100 mile Prudential bike ride.
In contrast to last year, I am not riding in any particular charity team but I am following it up in the middle of September by rowing down 80 miles of the Thames over 2 days. I am coming out of rowing retirement (dodgy back allowing) to join in a parent’s crew (most of whom have not rowed before) from my youngest son’s school, who are also making up a number of racing boats.
My motivation? The row is in support of the local children’s hospice Shooting Star Chase, who gave great support to my other son Oli, who lost his fight with cancer. The last day of the row will be 2 years since he lost his battle.
Many people were very generous before and I hope you may again consider encouraging an ageing foolhardy man for this worthy cause.
