Land’s End to John O’Groats Charity Bike Ride

Friday September 25th to Sunday October 4th 2009

In 2009,  a couple of friends of mine, Anthony Thompson and Keith Carby, came up with the idea of inviting a group of like minded individuals from the Financial Services Industry to take part in one of life's great challenges, to cycle the length of Great Britain and to raise money for worthy courses.

Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time.  At the moment I can’t believe I am doing this, nearly 1,000 miles over 9 and half days.  The last bike I owned was a chopper!  You can find out more about the ride and the other riders at our website www.moneyspinners.org/  You can even follow my daily progress via the Google maps on the site!

Still it’s for a great cause, well two actually.  The first is Naomi House Children's Hospice, www.naomihouse.org.uk providing respite care, terminal care and bereavement support for children and families across the South of England.  All the team sponsorship raised through Moneyspinners will go to this, our team nominated the charity.

The second and my individual nominated charity is The Connection at St. Martins in the Fields www.connection-at-stmartins.org.uk  St. Martins helps homeless people by providing specialist services including a day and night centre, outreach for rough sleepers, skills training and career advice, activity programmes and specialist support for complex needs - to 200 people in central London every day.  By encouraging each person to address the issues which caused their homelessness they help them to gain the skills and confidence to make lasting changes in their lives.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate.

Everything helps and I am very appreciative of any support you can give.

So please dig deep.

Many thanks – Paul
