In October I'll be runnning the Kielder Marathon on behalf of the NHS Gateshead Foundation Trust, with all funds raised going specifically to the St Bede's Unit. The Unit provides palliative care for those at the end of their lives, and the hard work of the staff allows patients to remain comfortable and dignified. My Grandad was in the unit last year, and the level of care which he recieved was phenomenal, and made the experience easier on him and on his friends and family.
