Informa 3 Peaks Challenge · 22 May 2015

The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This summer, I’ll be undertaking two challenges in order to raise money for The Prince’s Trust.

Challenge 1 (the official one) - The 3 Peaks

In May, along with over 30 of my Informa colleagues I will be taking part in the 3 Peaks Challenge; that’s walking the three highest peaks in the UK. I’ll tackle Ben Nevis (Scotland), Scafell Pike (England) and Snowdon (Wales). I aim to complete the 22+ mile walk in just 24 hours (with the help of the minibus for those annoying road parts in the middle).

Challenge 2 - The Cuillin Ridge Traverse

With barely a breath in between challenges, (less than 2 weeks) I will then head back up to Scotland, to the Isle of Skye, to traverse one of Europe’s longest ridges, the Cuillin Ridge. At over 12km long, 4000m ascending and comprising 17 peaks, it’s completed not just by hiking but also by scrambling and climbing. The 900ft drops either side of the ridge will keep us company throughout the days and into the night, when I will be securing my sleeping bag to the biggest rock I can find.

So why am I doing all this? Well, definitely for the challenge: can I do it? Will I make it home in one piece? But also to support a fantastic charity, The Prince's Trust, which does amazing work helping young people to get through adversity and make something of their lives.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you for your support.
