Simplyhealth Great South Run 2018 · 21 October 2018 ·

BIBS supports babies and their families on the neonatal unit, Buscot Ward at the Royal Berkshire Hospital. Funds raised go towards funding life-saving equipment for the babies, providing emotional support for families throughout a baby's stay & in the community, and improving ward facilities.

Story

On 28/08/18 Nathalie woke up at 5am and her waters had broken, so we rushed into the hospital to get checked over. Once checked over the decision was made that baby
Dawson had to join the gosling tribe today. Within a matter of an hour or so we were in theatre ready for the operation to take place. @12:09 Dawson Jack Rain Gosling was born weighing 4.63lbs. He’s was immediately taken up to the Buscot ward where they look after premature babies. I know it’s only day 2 but he has come a along way in such a short time and talking to other parents who’s babies have been in there for longer it is amazing how they are looked after. They have a graduate board and I recognized a couple of them so it just shows how special this ward is.

As I’m already running the Great South Run I should raise some much needed funds for the ward to help future premature babies.
