Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my 'Supporting the Homeless' Sleep Out JustGiving page.

On the night of Friday 26 February 2010, I plan to sleep out in the churchyard of Pip 'n' Jay church in Bristol, along with people from many other organisations in Bristol who work to help homeless people.

You can find out more about the event on the Sleepout page of the BCAN web site.  If you would like to join us in doing something practical to help some of the most needy and vulnerable people in our city, please get in touch with me, or someone from one of the other organisations taking part.  But, if you can't, please sponsor someone who is taking part.

As well as raising funds to support the work we do, we hope to achieve several other things through this event:

  • * It is a concrete and peaceful way of demonstrating our indignation and protest against what is a national scandal. Every person has a right to decent housing.

  • * It is a way to raise awareness of the plight of homeless people in Bristol, and the work being done by so many organisations to help them.

  • * And it is a concrete way of demonstrating the way in which these organisations work together to help the homeless people in Bristol.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.  Thank you very much.
