Manchester to London bike ride · 17 June 2016

The Christie charity provides enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds. Your support can help us to fund life-changing and potentially life-saving projects that will benefit cancer patients both now and in the future.

Story

On the 17th June I will be taking part in a 2 day bike ride from The Christie to UCLH a distance of roughly 200 miles, hopefully with clear skies and no wind!

The purpose is to raise money for the facilities at the new Proton Beam Therapy centre at The Christie currently under construction, one of only two sites in the UK.  The new service will provide state of the art treatment to patients meaning less side effects as a result of its more precise beam delivery. It will also have a big impact in reducing the stress and anxiety for patients and families who would previously have travelled to Europe and beyond for Proton treatment.

I've worked at the Chrisitie a number of years and although not in a medical capacity, am always impressed by the innovation and care they provide to patients.  I hope you can help me in raising money for this great new facility in Manchester.  Many thanks in advance....
