My story

Training really hard for this years marathons. London and Edinburgh as well as the Silverstone Half and the Great North run. Just completed the Great North West Half Marathon at Blackpool in 1 hour 47mins 51 secs. So I am showing steady improvement. Thank you again for your continued support.

My entry is now confirmed for the 2011 Virgin London, I haven't stopped training since the 2010 race and I am going all out for 3 hour something time, even if it is 3 hours 59 mins i'll be happy. Please keep the donations coming and lets see if I can smash my target of £3300. Spinal research are doing some fantastic ground breaking work and a majority of there income is from London Marathon fund raising. Every little helps.

Thank you to everyone so much for your help raising money for such a worthwhile cause. I managed to get to the Finish line in 4 hours 39 mins. About 20 mins slower than planned after running out steam at mile 21 and really had to dig deep to keep moving for those last 5 miles. Never been so happy to finish a race in my life. So please keep the donations coming and I'll endeavour to break 4 hours next year!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I raced Motocross for 31 years from age 7 until I was 38. I felt it was time to stop when my worn out hips stopped me cocking my leg over a bike.

I had broken ankles, wrists, collarbones, rib's and even a broken hip. I crashed and was dragged off the track by the First aid more times than I care to think about, but I guess I was lucky. I pushed my luck and walked away, (sometimes crawled).

In our sport each year numurous riders can't walk away. they crash and can't get up. Please help me to help those riders with damaged spinal cords that weren't as lucky as me.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it's the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

A quick update, with just one month to go before the big day, after 6 months of training, 4 weeks of snow, more aches and pains than you can imagine including a nasty strained thigh muscle, I have clocked up 434 miles over 86 seperate runs, burned 59,000 calories (lost nearly 2 stone), climbed over 35000ft and spent 70 hours and 39 mins doing it. Please Help!

Spinal Research is a pioneering charity. Its aim is to find ways to repair spinal cord injury and reverse the paralysis that results from it. Based in the UK and recognised as a leader in its field, Spinal Research funds groundbreaking projects at scientific and medical institutions around the world. The next landmark is the launch of clinical trials with paralysed volunteers. These trials will test innovative treatments that could repair damage in the human spinal cord, and so restore sensation and movement.
